Nazareth Hospital Oncology Office |
International Placements
It is with great joy that we introduce our
International Placements. Just a very short time ago, all of the
Angels of Hope that had gone out were within the United States. It
could no more have remained that way than a caterpillar remain in
its chrysalis, never to know the joy and beauty of being a
butterfly, because the Angels are for all peoples, for every man,
woman and child on the planet who suffers and finds himself
wondering if anyone knows and if anyone cares.

Imagine an Angel, a gentle
messenger of Love, Hope, and Peace, with delicate wings flying from
one place to the next, wrapping her wings around the children of
Earth, soothing and healing them with her presence, and the
certainty that she speaks truth when she says, “Do not be afraid.
You are not alone.” This is exactly what is offered through Angels
of Hope. They don’t need to be in every facility in every city,
town, or even country, to touch every heart, for they radiate forth
from wherever they are placed. We can only hope to get them
everywhere they need to be to do the most good. |

Pam & Kerin packing 1st Intl Angel |
An age-old area of conflict and
turmoil on this planet has been the Middle East, often centered on
Jerusalem, the holy city of three major religions, Islam,
Christianity, and Judaism. The need for peace, reconciliation, and
freedom from fear is felt in the hearts of all. It is not surprising
that our first International Angel of Hope went to Jerusalem.

There are several in Israel, the first one at Girls Town Jerusalem
Bayit Lepletot, an orphanage, one at Holy Family Hospital in
Nazareth, one at a mental health clinic in Jerusalem, one at a
speech and children’s therapy clinic in Nablus, an Arab area on the
West Bank, and one at an eye hospital in Hebron, in the West Bank.
An Angel went to Cairo to St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church Massara,
where for months they have diligently worked to help end the
violence between Muslims and Christians.
Soon our first Angels of Hope in
Mexico and Central America will be sent. In October, one is going to
an orphanage in Juarez, Mexico where most of the residents were
orphaned through the drug war violence there, and one to an
orphanage in Madera, Chihuahua, where most of the children came from
a background of abuse and neglect. In December, Angels are going to
orphanages in Belize and Cozumel, Mexico, as well as one to a
program offering care to HIV-positive people in Honduras.

Haiti is a Caribbean island nation
which has weathered many hurricanes, floods, political unrest, and
great poverty for many years. In Cap-Haitien, in the northern
mountainous region, one of the poorest regions in the country, there
is a 24-hour Free Medical Clinic operated by a service project
called For Haiti With Love, which offers not only medical care, but
works with the people to build homes and try to improve their
everyday lives. We have been invited to send an Angel of Hope there,
and it will soon be on its way.

Japan’s First Angel of Hope
at Seibo Intl Hospital |
The Horn of Africa has suffered from drought,
famine, and civil war. Somalia is in the middle of it all, and thousands of
refugees flood to Kenya for food, and safety. Kenya is suffering too, with 1.1
out of 1.7 million orphans, left orphaned because of AIDS. Arrangements are
underway to place an Angel of Hope in an orphanage there operated by Restore
Humanity.
And who has not heard of the devastation in
Japan after last December’s earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disaster? They are
still struggling to recover, even as additional tremors shake the country. This
December, an Angel of Hope is going to Seibo International Hospital in Tokyo,
which has treated many of the victims of the disaster.
Angel Coloring Books
and donated crayons are now being sent to the orphanages along with their
Angels. It’s another way for the children to know the loving touch of the
Angels.
The common response to our calls offering
Angels of Hope to these countries has been, “Thank you for thinking of us. Thank
you for remembering us.” The need is only growing around the globe. Help us to
help them. You can download a Donation Form, or donate using your credit card or
